Breast stroke legs

by Jess

I am becoming more confident in the pool, but still can't quite master how to become more horizontal in the water when doing breast stroke.

I think it's because I still have a slight fear of not being able to get my balance when I try to stand up

Hi Jess,

You are right, I've come across this quite a few times and the main reason is because you feel unconfident to become more horizontal in the water. People tend to feel more confident when they know the floor of the pool is not too far away but as time goes on and you do more breaststroke you will become more horizontal in the water.

Also it is worth mentioning that it can be also because the breaststroke legs are not propelling the swimmer and because they are not propelling they are dragging. Make sure they are doing what they should be doing. Make sure your feet are pointing out and creating propulsion, this can also cause you to swim vertically it can also be a combination of the two....confidence and technique....

Hope this helps if you have any more questions please get back in touch....
