Swimming tips/help Best Floatation device for Two year old?

by Wendy
(UK)

I take my two year old granddaughter to our local pool every week. She started off with a buoyancy vest, now too small for her is starting to use arm bands. She is gaining in confidence, but does seem unstable, and I am interested in hearing your opinion as to the best floatation device to use for such a little one. Thank you

Wendy

Hi Wendy,
Thanks for the question it’s nice to hear from you, the best thing it think you could use is a swim belt. These are tied around the waist, the individual floats are removable so as your grandchild gets better a small float can be removed. They come is all designs and styles, the picture on my website is a basic one but it give you some idea of what to look for.

As with the swim vest you obviously you must supervise your grandchild when in the water especially when out of her depth.

Good luck, and please let me know how you get on and if you have any more questions please get back in touch, I’ve also noticed that you have purchased my swimming eBook, thank you!!! I hope you enjoy it. May be you would like to send me a review about what you think of it. I’d love to know your opinion of it is.......

Thanks again Wendy and enjoy teaching your little one to swim, the most rewarding thing you can do, and that is what my site is all about :)

The link below will take you to my equipment page, the swim belt is about halfway down the page.
